How to turn a puppy into a pretzel

Begin this process with a windfall tree branch that has lots of twists and turns in it.

Starting point, June 21, 2025.

Allow the puppy to strip smaller twigs and bark from the branch.  Then let the puppy play with it.

Note the step-by-step process of the puppy trying to relocate the branch and shake its neck.  This demonstration was put together by Ember the evening of July 9th, 2025.

Grasp toward one end.

Step over with one rear paw and one front paw, so that the branch weaves under your belly.

Twist your body to try to grab it behind your right hind quarter.

You may have to go under that right hind leg to grasp the branch.  Ooops!

You have now become a puppy-flavored pretzel, as you flop onto your butt!

This is such a great exercise tool... wonder how much I can sell them for?  What do you mean the tree only produced ONE, and it's only for me?

Life is good!  Keep on Sparking!

    1. I keep moving it from place to place in the yard. And we get different efforts in each place. Don't you just love free toys?

    2. Best investment you ever made, right? I have a video of Oscar pushing a rock, about the size of an Idaho baking potato, all around the yard. He wore the black off his nose!

    3. Rocks are another "free" toy! Ember picks up the lava rock that washes under the fence from next door and chomps on it. I'm afraid for her teeth sometimes, but she seems to know when to quit!

  5. LOL! Would that we could do this as people! LOLOL

Haven't read your blogs for awhile. Fractured left hip on Wednesday last week. Surgery to fix on Thursday last week. Home yesterday.

All the fun started on Tuesday. Jas had to have urinary surgery. He did well w/the surgery. BUT he did not do so well. in recovery room.

He had a significant cardiac event, but was conscious and no symptoms. The Recovery nurse showed me the EKG and had to really stifle myself from a scream. But long story short, he was transferred to ICU, had no more episodes, but is wearing a Holter Monitor and has to see the cardiologist. Lord.

And now we're both home -- settling in to whatever normal is/will be.

Your pics of Ember made me laugh!

    1. I'd been keeping up on your journey, thanks to Starri's updates on the Maintenance group. Your plate is overflowing, and that's a fact!

I hope you and Jas will take whatever time it takes to fully heal, settling into that "new normal". Ember keeps me company, and keeps me amused, as does her feline "sibling", The Prisoner. Glad the photos gave you a bit of a lift in your day!

T-ball and heat warnings

Freight cars these days... graffiti central.  Some of them are pretty artsy, too.  This was Sunday afternoon on the way to FGC's T-ball ...
