Under the weather

Miaow!  Where's my breakfast!  Want soft food!

Mom's been under the weather... this is The Prisoner meowing at everybody!  She says she can't go out in crowds, and she catches everything anymore.  She used up two at home Covid tests this week, both negative, but they were about to expire anyway, so why let them gather dust?

Meanwhile, across town, posted photos of the fashion show, starring Carl.  Sigh... his expression shows he's long-suffering for his humans' silliness.

Hoody and jammies!  If he were a cat, he would never put up with this!

Somehow a hunting breed doesn't look "right" in clothing, to my way of thinking.  Their eyes seem to plead: "really?"

That's about it from here... quiet house, except for the coughs, sneezes and loud nose blowing.

But mom says, "life is good".  Purr... and Spark... on!

  1. Thank you, Prisoner for the update. I'm sorry to read that your human is under the weather. You must be delighted seeing the competition for your affections humiliated. πŸ˜‚

Sending healing wishes to your human. Hope she feels better soon. πŸ˜ΈπŸ€—πŸ’ž

  2. Awww, Carl looks cute in his clothes. Agree, there's no way a cat would go for that at all.

Sorry you're under the weather and hopefully you'll feel better soon.

    Enjoy your weekend! (((BIG HUGS)))

    1. Hope your cave is cozy and warm, and quiet. Maybe with a pup on your lap?

(( hugs )) sanitized by the interwebs!

  4. Hubby is the same as you at the moment, totally under the weather. I feel the same way and actually because of the sensors cats have with their whiskers, paws and fur it really hurts them to put clothes on them. It is a real pet peeve with me those that dress cats, it is not funny it is cruel. Dogs only need boots if they are walking on salt covered sidewalks to protect their pads. Carl is a very patient dog.

    1. I have never been one to put clothing on Carl. I do put his harness on when I'm in charge, but he's become so much better at loose leash behavior that I don't absolutely have to do so nowadays. I can't stand seeing that look of "tolerance" to be honest... I prefer his "happy naturist" glowing eyes!

However, when Lacey wrote that my son actually ordered that hoody for the dog, I know I've lost that battle. And I would NEVER put a cat in clothes! If that's the kind of pet you want, adopt a doll!

  5. Feel better! My traveling companion in-laws have both had what is being called the 30-day cough. Mild to moderate symptoms, blah, and affects anyone with respiratory issues a bit harder; my SIL's asthma is affecting her recovery. However, we finally ventured out for a dinner last evening, our first since NYE! I ate slightly too much but did manage to bring leftovers. Nothing like a NJ Italian place for leftovers! Pene pasta with chicken, sausage, broccoli rabe made me feel I chose healthy and wisely, hahahaha.

Poor Carl. He does look insulted. Oscar liked is coats for outdoors and tolerated his Yankees t-shirt. Weiner dogs are built for embarrassing clothing!

    1. LOL: Weiner dogs built for embarrassing clothing! Somehow I can't even imagine my MIL's Hilda (long haired dachshund, since who has long since departed for the rainbow bridge and been there to meet both MIL and BIL!) tolerating that, nor can I imagine either her or her son being tempted to dress her.

Your dinner sounds delightful, and you made my mouth water with the description of a NJ Italian meal! That must mean I'm recovering a bit, but honestly, if eating exacerbate the cough, I want little to do with it. Ugh!

Hope your relatives do recover fully.

  6. I'm glad you are feeling better. You could make your own with something I've done before; chicken sausage, sliced, a few tomatoes, some other veggies and I substitute broccolini. Add a bit of Italian seasoning then put over pasta. I tend to use the chick pea pastas. However, it was nice to have it cooked by someone else.

    1. That's the main point of eating out, isn't it? Having it cooked by someone else?

  7. I sure hope that you're getting over this bug! BUT glad your tests are negative!

Poor Carl. I can say w/o a doubt Miss Lilly would definitely not put up with it! LOL

  8. Sounds like the gunk I had. Nephew has it now (not from me). Seems to be everywhere, most people are no longer masking. Guess we gotta take care of ourselves (I’m still masking).
(Hope you’re feeling better by now)

    1. I am better one day at a time. Went on sister walk with the Ace on Wednesday, was ready to go work out with the trainer on Thursday, but discovered I'd forgotten he was going to be gone! So I have a few more workout free days before ramping that back up again.

Wise woman to still mask in public spaces! I attribute this to not masking at the basketball game a few days before it started. Sigh. I should know better.
