The heat wave returns.

It's hot outside, folks.  Sunday morning the 26th, 79℉ already!

The Prisoner has his fur fluffed up, to cool himself.

A cooling pad is a good idea, here, mom!

Ember kept her outside trips short today and I did not take her on leash in the neighborhood.

About Ember's supper time, my phone rang with an unfamiliar number, and it turned out to be our old friend Lynda (LEANJEAN6)... I promised I'd say hi for her as she's having issues updating her own blog at this point.

Her daughter is visiting and I hope she's able to help with the computer issues as I tried and was unable to resolve it over the phone with my old "help desk" suggestions.

Reminds me of my own recent printer issues where the "help" points to something that you were asking for help with!

Life is good.  We are keeping cool inside.  Keep Sparking!

  1. I had wondered, Lynda's last blog sounded pretty panicked, hopefully her daughter will help her. A cooling pad sounds pretty nice to have this summer. Have a lovely week with hopefully some days of cooler temps.

    1. You're on the ball this Monday morning, m'dear! I wasn't going to post yesterday, just "seeding" it for the weekly blog later, but when Lynda called, I figured I'd put out a daily just to give folks some warm fuzzies about her welfare. Meantime, the heat goes on, today.

  3. So glad you got a call from Lynda! Hope she gets the computer issues in order. Feel sorry for her. So frustrating!

I forgot Allison was visiting and I hope she can help. Glad she’s there!

Ember looks content on the cooling pad. And Prisoner looks fluffy!

    Stay cool.

  4. Barb, you may not see this, but do you have a way to contact Lynda to see if she's okay? I know she was having issues in writing her blog, but it has been a week. If you reach her maybe you can write a post to let us know she's okay. Thank you.

    1. Since you asked, I made a point of calling back the number she called me from, Maureen. I got her voicemail and left a message that I'd been asked to check on her. We'll see if she calls back. I do not know how long her daughter's visit was planned to be, but her daughter was there on Sunday when she called before.

I was brought up with "no news is good news" philosophy, but you know, as we get a little older, having a daily check in is a good thing, isn't it? My sister Alicia and I do this for each other via phone messages.

  5. Barb, thank you so very much for trying to reach her. A friend and I both do a daily check in. I live alone, as does my friend, and we're both in our late 70s, so it gives us peace of mind. I hope she calls back. It's one thing if she's too busy with her daughter's visit, but not so good if something has happened. Thanks again.

  6. I love that we still check in on each other, from one "checker" to another ;-)
