Sunday night's sunset was stunning, and I captured a small slice of it over the nativity on a lawn across the street. Ember had her paws up on the deck rail watching the world go by.
Monday was a return to mild (for December) temperatures and sunny skies. Ember's grooming drop off was at 9, and I spent the time sweeping, dust-mopping, vacuuming, etc. so that the clean dog coming homes would not immediately pick up the same sort of thing Tony had just washed off.
Ember loved her spa day and came home the way many dogs do after their grooming, sporting her bandana and carrying herself with joy!
She was more worn out than she was willing to admit, and sacked out, first on the kitchen floor, then on my lap, then the couch beside me, then back onto the kitchen floor. After being fed some supper, she moved back into her kennel until "last call".
By the way, Tony still ties the best knots. She was still in the bandana at 5 p.m. It only came off at "last call".
Onward to Tuesday! We will see what this new day brings!
Life is Good. Spark on!
Stunning sunset. The long range weather forecast for our area is warm to the new year. That works for me.
ReplyDeleteNice the pup had a calm afternoon/evening. Wonder the reason?
Happy Tuesday.
The excitement over being around other dogs and humans, I expect... but I don't know if they give her "calming" treats while she's there... I know they do give her treats, but some formulas are advertised as "calming".
DeleteWhat an absolutely gorgeous sunset!
ReplyDeleteAwesome that Ember enjoyed her spa time and YOU were able to get some chores done. AND Prisoner has some dog-freedom, too. Awwww, just like kids, they look angelic when they’re sleeping! Sweet.
Hope today is a good day w/Ember.
Happy Tuesday. hugs

Fingers crossed. So far we've had one instance of puppy brilliance this morning, when she lost track of the glow in the dark ball I had tossed out for her to fetch. She was distracted by something else in the back yard, then when she could not find it, she spotted a different glow in the dark ball on the "toy shelf" (window ledge... I often put toys there). She got up on her hind legs and retrieved the OTHER ball, and brought it to me for her treat! I was so amused, and of course praised her for her cleverness, as well as giving her the "bring me" treat.
DeleteIt sure was a stunning sunset! Ember looks so sweet sleeping. Sounds like a great day! Have a great Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Praying for warm enough weather to go "undo" some of the grooming with a dog park visit...

ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunset !!
80 degrees high past few days here after a few crisp days.
This got me wondering what you consider crisp in Texas. I would call highs in the thirties above Fahrenheit crisp. In January, I would call the same temperatures downright balmy.
DeleteCrisp here is around 60, cold around 45, very cold around 32 and way too cold below freezing.

Awesome scale, Susan! We are "very cold" to "way too cold" for you this morning, warming up to "cold" - "very cold" for today's high (38). Crisp here depends on the month, but 32 would qualify for most of the Winter. 40 would be crisp in September - October, maybe even November. January - March, 20 would be crisp.
DeleteSunsets and sunrises seen over the fence are wonderful! Seems like things are all right in the world with that stop for a peaceful view. I live in a high valley surrounded by mountains, so we also get to see the clouds roll up over the top of the mountains this time of year.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Ember enjoys her spa days and comes home happy. Our (rescued) dogs, any vet or nail appointment is fearful even after all these years. :(
How sad for your rescue doggos! I started taking Ember to the groomer for a "puppy training" groom when she was done with her puppy shots. I wanted her to adjust to the process, and these groomers are committed to stress-free grooming (for the dogs, anyway).
DeleteAnd so right about taking the time to breathe and enjoy the stability of natural phenomena, like sunrises, sunsets, full moons, and the dance of the constellations and the planets! "What is man, that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man, that thou visitest him" KJV Ps 8:4

ReplyDeleteAwesome clip. Different translation of the Psalm, but still the wonder over the great Love bestowed upon man by our Maker.
DeleteI saw a cute meme I neglected to copy. It was a series of three pictures ;
ReplyDeleteThe first was a cute, happy yellow lab puppy labeled with age 0-6 months.
The second was a fierce, cartoon Tyrannosaurus with the label 6 months to 2 years.
The third was a happy adult yellow lab with the label 2 years +.
I thought of you.
I've seen that one, labeled the three phases of lab life, only the one I saw was a video of a black lab, as "the cutest puppy ever to puppy", followed by "landshark/a$$hole", then "the best dog evah!" Yep, got a year plus to go to get to that "best dog ever" phase!
