Today I am thankful for the magic of garbage day. One day a week, the big trucks stop and the workers haul off whatever I've put to the curb (within reason, and even outside of some level of reason if one calls first). This is hard labor, done in all weather. It's honorable work, and most of the workers smile at Ember if we're out walking when they come by. Ember, for her part, loves workmen of all sorts, and wags her tail. I have to think she's thankful for them, too.

It is a tough job and with very little thanks for it either.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Smiling and nodding or saying good morning to the "unseen" workers is a fine mission to take on.
