Thanksgiving Season Day 22 Gratitude

 Monday, November 3rd, 2025

Today I am thankful for the pretty fall colors.  The trees are close to their peak of yellows, reds and oranges at this point.

More than just pretty colors, the progress as the season changes remind me of the cycle of renewal.  We fall from a peak, maybe go dormant, to the quiet of Winter, then the promise of Spring.  I am thankful for the years I have had to experience the changes, for knowing about renewal allows us to live in hope.

  1. Yes, the colours are amazing. Change can be beautiful! Hard sometimes but beautiful too.

  2. I was thinking nearly the same thing yesterday. The drought has put the kibosh on really nice leaves this year but a few trees have worn brilliant coats of yellow or red. Seeing them standing among the other naked trees against the blue sky was sweet. It was also the realization that in the next few days we will start the colder days with the pale blue skies. The scientist in me (mis)remembers there's less water in the air so less reflection of light to form the blue(?)

    1. We just came out from our own drought, so that's probably why they are so brilliant this year. Cycles, huh?

  3. Yes, it is late in the season, but we still have some colors on the trees, too.

I love your thinking about it as a season of renewal and living in hope. Definitely how life has to be lived in this day and age for peace!

  4. Beautiful colors. Most of our trees have changed and the leaves are already down on the ground. I agree with you about this being a season of renewal. Enjoy your day!
