Thanksgiving Season of Gratitude: Day 35

 Sunday November 16, 2025

Today I am thankful for the smooth transition of cell service providers.  Since my son provides me with my mobile phone service, he's the decider, and today was the day to change out to a less costly one.  He messaged me with instructions for what I had to do on my end, and... it worked!

Don't you love it when technology works to plan?  He paid for a year on this new service at a "black Friday sale" price, and the old service that amount of payment would only have covered two months.  Pricing of so many things is outrageously variable!  I'm grateful that my son keeps an eye on these things so I don't have to!

  1. So nice that your DS found a less costly phone option. We need to look into that, as well!

    1. This is the third provider since he started paying for my phone. LOL... kind of a nice turnaround, since I paid for his during his teen usage and younger adulthood.

  3. I do love when switch overs go well. I remember the days when you had one service company and you just let it ride. Now you really have to keep an eye on things in order to keep the less costly service, our internet provider got bought out by another company and they are shutting down the old and moving us all over to them. They say there will be no changes to cost or service but we shall see - I will be keeping a close eye on things.

    1. Seems to me merging systems when there were buyouts were the hardest things to accomplish. Having worked with various computer systems in different organizations, I found it amazing how many different ways there were to perform the same function, and how awkward it was to try to make them work together.
