Tuna juice worked

I swear my sister's cat manipulated me into bringing the tuna juice.  Crushing her pills in tuna juice worked this morning.  So, success, on day 3 of cat-tending!

As a treat for myself, I went kayaking this morning.  Ahhhh!  Once again peaceful waters.

I went around to the backwaters by the golf course, and while there encountered a woman who knew where the eagles' nest was, so she led a couple of us back to where we could see it.  It's a bit of a distance from the water, mind you, but she'd actually seen the eagles land there, and the babies flap their wings... but not today.  However, I now know where the nest is, and sometime when I have a lot of leisure time, I can return and spend some watchful time back there.

The guide kayaker.

And the entryway to the backwaters... golfers in the distance.

Selfie on the water

From the shore, doesn't that lake look peaceful?

One more paddle, in the books.  One peaceful mind, headed home.

Life is good.  Spark on!

  3. Don't wait too long as it will soon be fledging time (if they haven't already done that) and after that, the nest will probably be soon abandoned until next year. After they've fledged, they do stay in the neighborhood a while, honing their new flying skills and they are fun to watch.

    1. Thanks for the tip! They may have already gone, as I don't know how long ago this gal sighted the little ones. Doesn't matter, it is a beautiful, peaceful part of the backwaters and worth visiting even without eagle sighting possibility!

  4. Seems like a wonderful way to greet the day…you seem to thoroughly enjoy kayaking and the eagles nest is an added bonus! Where I walk every morning, there is an eagle family and we always see the male, sometimes the female, and as a rare treat, the babies as they are learning to fly and hunt for food. Always in awe!! BUT, they are gone now until next year…Eissa7

  5. Fur babies are clever, aren't they, the way they manipulate and get their way! LOL

Plans versus actuals

This is one that could have been predicted:  I got out the hose and filled the kiddie pool while Ember was finishing one of her puppy naps...
