You don't even have to leave the backyard to see Fall colors. My sunrise tree isn't quite to its peak yet.
Carl loves exploring the long grass / weeds, and sniffing out what might have been through here overnight.
Meanwhile, just beyond the fence the squirrels have free rein. They are cheeky critters that like to tease pups who are contained, aren't they?
Prairie grass and volunteer trees that haven't yet been cut back frame another tree that's turning. In the distance you can see a tree variety that's further along.
Life is Good.
Keep Sparking!
Mother Nature shows off her finery before it's put away for the winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a life!! A dog's life is quoted as being miserable. Totally disagree!
Enjoy the day! 🤗💕
Clearly those who said that about a dog's life were NOT talking about the modern American suburban dog. Carl is not the only "spoiled" pup. He's not really all THAT spoiled... he's well-behaved. But he does have a lot of creature comforts.
DeleteHe's so danged cute.
ReplyDeleteI just remarked to DH that from my perch here in the lving room, I swear the tree across the street has gone from green to gold in 3 days!
My own maples decided to drop half it's leaves, brown-edged and sort of changing, last week. Now we are covered in maple seeds. And squirrels.
Cute? Aren't they all? That reminds me, I met a "Chewy" at the dog park Sunday! This one is an Australian Shepherd-Poodle mix, and the name fits. Not huge, but definitely Chewbacca worthy coat!
DeleteDon't you love the Fall colors? I think because the warm weather (79*F here today) is lasting so late the leaves will barely turn before they all get blown off.
What a wonderful picture of the colors and Carl! Looks like he’s being a good boy!

He is! Grandma declared a rest day and we played in the backyard, in his Halloween weed maze. Lots of scent work there!
DeleteLovely autumn pictures; and you really seem to be enjoying your Carl-time. :D
ReplyDeleteHe gives me something to write about that isn't laundry or grocery trips, that's for sure.
DeleteI thought the same thing about how many colors are in the yard, but most of our leaves have fallen. You're colors are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! (((BIG HUGS)))
I have the feeling that the leaves will fall and then the snow, very close to one another! The warm weather is lingering yet this week. The ten day forecast is telling us it will drop to a high of 43F by Halloween. That's more like October, isn't it?
DeleteMy nose and eyes felt itchy just seeing so much … ummm … Autumn 🤧

Allergies are such a nuisance! Hope your "season" passes sooner rather than later!
