Tuesday we went to the dog park early. Again a good visit. Nobody bit anybody, and other dogs raced some of the zoomies out of Carl. Grandma's thinking it might be too muddy on Wednesday.
But long before the lunch hour, Carl spotted the Prisoner crossing the street after his nocturnal jaunts. It was pre-sunrise. Carl got very animated, rushing from the bay window where he saw the cat, to the sliding glass door where he gains access to the yard (only Grandma held firm until after the sun was up).
Speaking of the sun being up... when you have a black dog and it's dark outside, you have two choices to keep track of him when you got outside in the dark to answer the call of nature. One is a leash and making him stay close, even inside the fence. The other?
There was a bit of a selfish reason behind that Christmas present for Carl!
It's really kind of magical, watching the harness move to his bouncing around in the dark!
And as always, Life is Good! Spark on! Or sparkle if you have a light vest!
Looks like Carl is keeping you on your toes. I'm sure he is loving the food you're giving him too. The leash is so cool and helpful.

He is indeed keeping me busy! With any luck we'll get a "pack walk" on leash in a couple of hours, as it's Wednesday, which is sister walk day!

Your mother and mine went to the same language school... also the bee's knees? With that vest, Carl can't avoid sparkling!
DeleteI finally got back in the gym today, still feeling slow and tired, still have a very dark bruise on the covid shot arm.
ReplyDeleteThe other night I saw a tiny lit up dog and thought it was genius. His “collar” looked more like a glow stick necklace though.

DeleteThere are several light-up products on the market, including collars, like the one you saw, and the "vest" (called "Light Hound") that Carl has. They really are a great idea if you're walking an animal after dark!

DeleteIt's funny, the first time I ran with lights on was for the "Last Run" of 2014... and it was bitterly cold out, but the lights on all the runners made it seem like a magical forest. Light in the darkness is a spiritual metaphor, and boy, do we need a few of those these days.
