Today I am thankful for my Ember's quiet approach to squirrel chasing. She eyes them. If they are on my fence I can tell her to "go get him" or "tell him to get off my fence" and she'll rush at the critter... but she doesn't bark at them!
I'm also grateful for her not being obsessed with them when we're out on leash! We're pretty good at stopping and watching, as opposed to lunging or barking.
Decision time, I might be seeing one!

Good girl, Ember! Mom is proud of her. So is Miss Lilly.

Love has so many health benefits, doesn't it? Pride in our loved ones is a side effect!
DeleteThat is really good! We don't have any dogs around here that don't chase and bark. Ember is really smart!
ReplyDeleteI think I just got lucky with her temperament on this particular score. However, I was pretty careful not to "spin her up" when she was a puppy and we encountered squirrels. I never even said the word!
DeleteThat's great! Oscar used to pull me around to "get" the squirrel.
ReplyDeleteOscar and Carl must be related! By breed and/or temperament!
