Season of Thanksgiving gratitude day 44

Tuesday November 25, 2025

Today I am reminded that a year ago I was racing the calendar to get the kitchen appliances all installed in time to cook for the holiday!  I am thankful it was done last year!  I am thankful for a pup who while she's very interested in what I do in the kitchen, settles down to patiently wait for the oven to do its job!

  1. Yes, you can see how much Ember has matured in this last year. I remember when you were wondering between the appliances and cooking. Have a great day!

    1. It seems like such a long time ago but it's not.

  2. Yeah for enjoying the appliances for a year now. And look how Ember has grown physically and intellectually!

    1. You can tell we're getting close to "the day", as thoughts turn to cooking and cleaning!

hugs and blessings to you and yours... may your holiday be full of peace and the healing progress continue.

  3. Thankful I got most of the prep work done for tomorrow. Nothing fancy here, but still want the meal to be special.

HOPE that the re-introduction of furniture goes well. Miss Lilly’s stress reaction is licking her paws. Poor baby. She doesn’t do it often, thankfully

It is horrible out there. We had snow all day, not a lot, but enough to be a problem. And now we have black ice. So, not setting foot out there. Do NOT need another fall.

And supposed to get slammed w/6-10 in. of snow Saturday.

Ember will enjoy her little extra day care time! Good for her.

Ember is getting more mature every day!

    1. That black ice is not to be messed around with! No, you do NOT need another fall! The snow forecast here is for 1 to 2 inches on Saturday, but of course, re-check the forecast regularly!

Poor Miss Lilly. Ember's stress reaction is to chew on things to get mom's attention. Walls, carpets, and furniture! I do give her appropriate things, but you know these critters... they are smart and will do whatever they know gets results!

Ember had a fine "short" day on Wednesday, and yes, she's getting more and more mature every day, but she's also reasserting her power on walks, pressing her limits until mom really puts her foot down. Thanksgiving day we had a "discussion" that the driveway she was dragging me up was "not OUR house!" I had stopped there at that driveway talking with the lady who lives there, but apparently the couple were somewhere else on Thursday. I generally win "in the end" when we have these discussions, but often I'm bribing her!

hugs and blessings... hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
