Thanksgiving Season Day 20 Gratitude

Saturday, November 1st, 2025

Today I am thankful for hospitals and doctors and nurses, oh, my!  ER's and ambulances and fancy medical machines.  You don't know how much good these do until you run across the need for them, for yourself or your family or friends!

A couple of weeks back, it was an online friend who had such a need.  This week it was one of my son's in-laws.  But at various times it has been many others, including myself.  I am thankful for those who study these things and offer their services.  So many caring individuals, so much education and practice!  So many different "happenings" in life that require the expertise they offer, from my dog bite in the Summer to heart, lung, or liver issues that need immediate attention followed by changes in lifestyle.

I'm thankful when there are answers and things that we can do to make life more livable!  I thankful that once there was a SparkPeople dot com, and that some of us have remained in contact from that shared interest of doing what we could to live healthier lives.

  1. Good health and well-wishes to your extended family.

Oh, I miss the Spark days! There was something about that community that clicked. I still keep a few friends, like you, close. I still have weekly email exchanges with one of our Australian members and have continued close friendships with a few others.

    1. I prize those connections that we made in the heyday of Spark! Lifelong friendships were formed, before we ever met in person.

    2. Well said, Barb!! Absolutely thankful for the medical professionals and those who care for us as we recover! AND Spark…what a wonderful community…I frequently wonder whatever happened to ALL those people whose blogs I’d read daily …friends from all over the world. So glad our paths crossed for a time, anyway! Eissa7 ( Karen)

  2. Yes, there are some wonderful people who work in the medical field and I, too am grateful that they are there. I do still miss SparkPeople as I met so many wonderful people from around the world there. Many have faded away but there are a few still. Huge hugs and have a great day Spark friend!
