My name is The Prisoner, and Mom asked me to substitute for her Day 12 gratitude post. She was a little busy this morning.
She did manage to tell the book of Faces that she's thankful for those who driver her to and from her medical appointments. Today was her cataract surgery on the second (left) eye. My Aunt Dottie was her driver this morning.
I, The Prisoner, am thankful for a couple of dog-free days, and the chance to cuddle and purr with my Aunt Dottie, too. I guess I hope that Ember is having fun at the Doggie Hotel she's staying at.
Meanwhile, Mom is kinda blind at the moment with a patch over her eye. The uncovered eye is the "slightly far-sighted" side, so she's having trouble reading the phone screen! She says the computer screen is a little better, though, so... there's that. Tomorrow morning she'll get the eye patch off, and she'll have a different driver, in Carl's mommy. Thankfully, Carl will not be coming along!
Life is purr-fect! Spark on!

ReplyDeletePrisoner - enjoy the respite from dog. Hope your HuMom does well with recovery time.
Prisoner has been pampered all day... purrs and brushes and pets, oh, my!
DeleteHope all went well with your surgery and that your recovery is uneventful!! Loved The Prisoners blog…so honest in his plans and hopes for the next 2 days! Let’s hope that Ember is enjoying her mini-vacay, as well! Eissa7 (Karen)
ReplyDeleteSurgery went smoothly. Very curious (it's about bedtime for me as I type) as to what it will be like this time when the patch comes off. I feel blinder this time (or my memory is weak about the first day recovery). It's hard when you can't put on the glasses because of the patch.
DeleteOh, it's a Loaf Kitty!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's to a quick healing from the cataract surgery ... such a blessing to live in a time when we can have this done.
Amen to that! This one seemed to take very little time, and I kind of dozed. Released my driver/watcher about 11 a.m. and took an afternoon nap, too. Saturday morning my DIL will take me for the follow up and patch removal.
DeleteHello, Poor Kitty. So nice to see you again. Enjoy the peace and quiet while your hyper house mate is away. 🐶 Glad that there is family to give you stokes of love and to care for mom. Prayers for her speedy recovery! 🙏🏼
ReplyDeleteIt was really kind of sweet. My sister held and petted Prisoner while I brushed him. Pampered, cossetted and loved!
DeleteHope you get well real soon and you are seeing better than ever before. Prisoner looks pretty happy in the pictures with quiet time.
ReplyDeleteHe does look happy! Of course it's also that I'm taking the time to take those photos, too. Good kitty!
DeleteGlad your Mom has someone to take her to her appointments as needed. Wahoo.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you have Ember-free time. YOU NEED IT.
And I bet Ember is having a good time @ the doggie hotel . . . being w/her ‘own kind’ and playing!
Hope Mom’s eyes are getting better from the cataract surgery.

Ember had a great time, and came home to collapse on the floor after just a few tosses of the football in the backyard. She didn't even get up while mommy heated up the ground beef to top her dinner kibble. Of course when mommy put it in her feeding spot and announced "Chow!" it was a different story!
DeleteWhat a good kitty keeping watch over Mom's blog. You needed that rest from Ember too. Hopefully your Mom is doing well and will be back to herself in no time. (((BIG HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteThe Prisoner was my "responsible adult" for the 24 hours following cataract surgery. LOL! It takes a while before everything is completely healed, but I do board the dog if I'm going to be on restrictions of any sort for a day or more.
