Day 34 - Today I am thankful...

I just told the Facebook crowd that I'm thankful for videos that make me laugh and give me hope.  I had just indulged in a few minutes of watching someone's Golden Retriever who "loves pumpkins".  It was well produced and edited, and I'm sure for the life of me that I could not find it again to link here.  Bottom line, after a certain length of time, I grew restless with it. I have "stuff to do", as we all do, but I realized I was thankful that such diversions exist.  I am thankful that people spend the effort in making them available.

Ember looks "leggy" in this photo.  Growing critters look gangly at times, chubby at times, and angelic when they sleep!

Her busy morning before this nap was in yesterday's blog.

Step one:  dishwasher installed.  No serious damage from the former machine leaking.

Step two:  Coming Monday... carpenter to deal with making room for the new stove.

Step three:  new stove and fridge arrive, on Tuesday.

In the meantime, today, Saturday, we have a play date to meet Carl and his humans at the dog park.  It is supposed to be a nice day again, and this is practically tradition for my birthday week some time!  This photo is from a year ago.

Life is good.  Spark on!

  1. Yup, I like those short videos too, they are a fun break. Ember looks tuckered. Schedule for new stuff looks great and I bet you are going to love the new ones. Have a great weekend.

    1. I think that was after walk #2? Busy puppy brain kind of a day.

I have yet to run the initial load of dishes... it takes me two or three days to accumulate a load worth!

    1. Thanks! My personal trainer and my doctor both share November as their birthday month, so even though my mother is gone, I still have birthday buddies!

  3. Sweet picture of Ember. Yes, she has that ‘almost adolescent’ gangly look!

Hope all goes well w/the carpentry being done for the fridge and stove to fit.

OHHHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK TO YOU! Have a great time on your play date for Ember and Carl.

    1. The play date had many plusses. Both dogs got worn out, I got to spend time around my foster grandson, and I got hugs from son & DIL, as well as Carl pets. Met some other instant doggy friends and their people, and discovered how high up a tree FGS can climb! Ember came home wet and happy!

  4. I'm so glad you are getting the new appliances ... you've had so much done in the past year! It will be nice and cozy for years to come.

    1. I do hope so! Because I need my poor budget to recover from all I had done this year! Still, if it does remain "nice and cozy" even for a couple of years, it will have been worth it!

Oh, and thanks for the unbirthday reminder! That makes two good earworms I've been gifted with today. The other one I had never heard before but my foster grandson was singing it. Chicken wings! Chicken wings! Chicken wings and balogna! Chicken wings and macaroni!... and on and on... repeat on loop.
