Late posting as a blog, but this morning I told FB that I'm grateful for the patience and grace my Maker has bestowed upon me. I view it as God modeling proper behavior for His children, including me... how we should treat one another with patience and grace!
In today's puppy news we have Ember crunching the ice found in her outdoor water bowl.We did not have a neighborhood walk today because Mommy was too cold to venture beyond our own yard. I had a workout with the trainer to begin at 9 a.m., and so did things in a different order. Also we were having issues with wanting to nip at Mommy's gloves.
Still we made it through the day, with some toy tossing and retrieving in the back yard for exercise.
Tomorrow evening I'll be leaving her in her crate while I go to a college basketball game with "the pandemic 5" plus foster grandkid. Then Thursday is Thanksgiving Day when I shall bake a pumpkin pie for the family feast at son's home... and Ember will come along for that outing.
We've come a long way since Easter, my little fur-love and I.
Life is good. Keep on Sparking!
Stay warm. Patience is a virtue.
ReplyDeletePatience was on low end this morning.
DeleteOH my. . . . I agree w/you! It’s nippy in the bippy and even Miss Lilly wants to walk, but not far. Fine w/me!
ReplyDeleteFun plans! Enjoy your b-ball game. And OF COURSE, this will be a wonderful Thanksgiving being the first one w/the foster child! How exciting. Enjoy.
I bet Ember will enjoy the outing, too. Yup . . . despite a way to go still on the journey (but don’t’ we ALL fit into that category!), she’s come a long way w/your love and attention.
Hugs

Boy did I need that comment about coming a long way this morning. We had a huge battle of the wills over digging a hole in someone else's yard this morning, followed by regression to her puppy messing with mommy's shoe laces after we got home. She decided we were playing a game and got to the point of biting me! Yikes. We had not been there in a couple of months. I can see in retrospect what I did wrong to trigger this, but it shook me up pretty bad. Intellectually, I can see that we've come a long way, but emotionally?
DeleteStill, even after all that, she trotted into her crate for puppy nap #1, and we're moving on.
I hope the basketball game is fun,, and that your team wins!!!
ReplyDeleteYikes on Ember's bitey-game return; I'm sure you didn't see that coming. It can be discouraging, but I'm glad you are able to step back afterward and think it over to figure a way forward.
We had our Thanksgiving meal on Monday ... each holiday is celebrated on the day both of my children are of closest to the actual day. We had friends over, for a total of eight people. I was pooped at the end of the day, and so thankful that the time of cooking for twenty or thirty at my folks' house after Mom couldn't anymore are long gone.
My favorite dish is the dressing with gravy. Yummm.
We don't get as cold as you probably do in the winter, but a couple of years ago I finally invested in a nice puffer jacket that comes mid-thigh, and some rainpants (which work nicely as windbreaker pants, as frequently our cold season is windy). This allows me to walk all year. Have I walked lately? No. Getting back into the habit will be some work, but I will do it.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Turkey dressing with gravy... YUM! One of my favorites. In fact, so much so, knowing that it's not a thing at the gather I'm going to for the Holiday, I bought a box of the mix to have at home.
DeleteHave a great Thanksgiving Day!
