Today I am thankful for my personalized tour of the universe, which about 20 minutes ago started a fresh new revolution of the sun.
I have a "new" kitchen (only the appliances, mind you, I didn't change and cupboards, counters or walls). The call from the delivery guys came on the dot of 8. They were ten minutes out. I explained the electrician wasn't scheduled until 8:15, and they accommodated by checking with their second delivery and did that first.
The electrician finished up just about the time the delivery truck rolled up.
The "college hunks" left still within their time window.Shiny!
I celebrated by playing with my new kitchen. I baked "comedy of errors" cookies. This is cookies where I thought I had certain ingredients on hand, but as it turns out, what I had was something a bit different. I made the cookies with the "wrong" ingredient chips. I gave a cannister of them to kid sis Alicia when she came over for her after-work visit.
The rest I intend to palm off on my son's family and in-laws! Presenting oatmeal Scotchies, made with mixed peanut butter and milk chocolate chips!
Life is good! Spark on!
The new stainless appliances are stunning! What an outstanding birthday gift! All new and shiny. They must be a breeze to operate, as the cookies look yummy. Sometimes those ingredient changes make for a delicious outcome.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your birthday. May it continue and bring love and happiness for the rest of the week and the weeks to come.
🎁🎂 🤗💖
Thanks, Jeanne. It's an adjustment, always, learning something new, but so far, it's been a delightful experience... surprises so far have all been good ones!
DeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteReally great new appliances! Happy to hear it all went well and things are pretty positive. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm relieved to have the job finished! And life back to pretty much the same old normal, just with appliances that function better. And have a few little conveniences that I didn't know I needed, but am glad to have.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was a bitty, my mom let me have lunch with Sheriff John most days after my older brother started kindergarten and I was sad I couldn't go to school.
The cookies look delicious! I have to get cookies out of my house right away once I bake them or I eat 'just one more' all day long.
Yay for your new appliances!
Love the video. Sheriff John was not a thing in this neck of the woods... we did have Captain Kangaroo, and Romper Room, and a character called Kalamity Kate (probably our local version of Sheriff John). Early days of live TV!
DeleteYes, Sheriff John was, I think, local to my area of Southern California. We had Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room as well...I remember wishing she would call my name as one of the children she saw in ... was it her magic mirror or something like that? When I was older I realized it was because I didn't have a 'regular' name like Susan or Mary ... :D
DeleteTwenty years ago or so I changed out and sang to the melody, "Put another wrinkle in your birthday suit, your birthday suit..." to a friend. We all had a good laugh.
Romper Room was sort of like a franchise... there was local talent in each media market. (Miss Nancy, in our case). That mirror never "saw" my kid sis Alicia, either, probably for similar reasons, but I think parents could call their children's names in for special attention for a birthday or some such.
DeleteYeah! New appliances. They look great! Hope you enjoyed making those cookies. Nothing could ever be wrong with a combo of peanut butter and chocolate chips!
ReplyDeleteHere's to a great Thursday!

Reese's Scotchies? LOL! They will be fine going to other people's houses, I have already had my own share! Ate a couple with my coffee as I packed them up to be re-homed!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
Thanks!
DeleteIt all looks great! Who knew you'd be buying yourself all new appliances for your birthday?
ReplyDeleteI love mystery baking. You take a bite and your senses get surprised.
It wasn't on my Bingo card, but I'm glad I got at least these three appliances replaced before the "tariff tax" starts being applied.
