How can you tell? Look at the cats on your deck: if they are sitting up on the rail and all perky? It's not acting much like Summer... or it's early morning!
On the other hand, if they are sprawled with bellies to the sun, in the yoga "corpse pose"? It's danged HOT out there! Summer has returned.
Honesty, though, compels me to disclose, the sprawled kitty was snapped the afternoon he got his rabies / distemper shots, and who knows how he was feeling... but he wasn't ready to forgive me for the vet trip quite yet when I took his photo through the window slats.
Meanwhile, back in reality... or back in the review of the past Spark blogging years... I'm down to 188 pages of blogs, or 2,815 individual blog entries. Subtract off the last 72 transition blogs, and that leaves 2,743 to review and decide about. Divide that by the 11 Spark days remaining, and that makes for 250 blogs a day... pretty much the schedule I laid out three days ago!
Yesterday I started hitting the training blogs from preparing for my first Sprint distance triathlon... those are fun. I also found my sister in law's diagnosis with ALS and my son's second deployment, and my sister's dealing with breast cancer. So some stressors and motivators mixed in with the endorphin producing workouts.
I've already been to the grocery to restock my freggies, and went out for my walk before breakfast, so as to avoid the coming heat (supposed to get up to 96℉ for a high today). It was quite pleasant, as we had a brief rain in the 6 a.m. hour. Nothing like slicing fresh fruit for your oatmeal breakfast, straight after the shopping trip!
Now let's all get out there and live the best Friday, August 6th, 2021 we can manage, wherever we sit in the cycle of life! Especially for those of us in "my generation", let's put Adventure before Dementia! The adventure, if mentally stimulating, might help put off the tendency toward dementia... brain health is part of this picture!✨ππ
Your blog post countdown numbers always start the πΆ “bottles of beer” π΅ song going in the back of my head! π€£
ReplyDelete...then it takes a minute to mentally replace it with something else ...”My SharONA!” πΆ was what popped up in there today. π
I love how you use your Weather Cats.
We have a Dog Thermometer in the winter. The colder it is, the fewer dog legs are sticking out of the Clam Bed (that’s what we call her “Snoozer Cozy Cave” π‘ π
LOL! Love your dog thermometer! It slays me every time I see a cat sprawled in such a vulnerable position. Clearly they feel safe!
DeleteStopping by to say hi.
ReplyDeleteHi! ✨
DeleteWe have roofers tearing off all the shingles and nails and everything else from our roof. So it’s noisy at our house, and the grandsons are here. We are all getting itchy to get outside so we can go to the library, and maybe the Lego store at the mall! It’s a masking day! We’re going to keep safe! The boys other grandma is recovering from Covid, unvaccinated. So we know we need to be careful
ReplyDeleteCovid is close to home, there with the boys' other Grandma. Be as careful as you were last year, so close to Sturgis! Oh, dear... between masking and being vaccinated, you should be OK, but I worry for the littles, who cannot be vaccinated.
DeleteOh your Prisoner looks happy to be sunbathing. I know, Miss Lilly takes 24-48 hrs. to forgive me for taking her to 'that awful place.' No amount of 'splaining will change it. LOL
ReplyDeleteGoing to make the best of the day. Good luck w/the blogs.
HUGS
Nobody can relax like a cat! Or spring forth from relaxation to action in such an artistic way, either!
DeleteGood work on the blog-saving!! And on getting your shopping done early on a hot day!!
ReplyDeleteEarly shopping is so much less stressed / peopled!
DeleteI stole it from a FB friend, who is about to retire to devote more time to her triathlon training!
ReplyDeleteEarly morning exercise is the best!
ReplyDeleteπ
DeleteBlog tip. If the time crunch starts to overwhelm your efforts, you can always just use your phone and take screenshots.
ReplyDeleteCats rule! The cat dog fight almost always goes to the cat. That’s why they have no fear.
I always enjoy your fitness enthusiasm. Me not so much. Maybe that will come a little further along this path. I’ll keep walking and watching for the beautiful joys along the way.
The best form of exercise? The one you will DO! Keep on walking. ✨πΆ♀️

ReplyDeleteHugs back!
DeleteChecking in with you here and Spark today!
ReplyDeleteLove your support!
π Thanks for checking in!
DeleteSummer returns with a vengeance tomorrow. Farmers' Market early, pick up two grands for the day, and home before it becomes unbearable.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
Stay cool! Sprinklers? Pool? For the grands?
DeleteHurrah! Started out for 1.6, hip talked, got 1.2. Icing now. Happy Saturday - Caturday? :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday, yourself. Slow, short intervals this morning, enjoying the "push" of the wind, as whatever weather is coming through was coming through. Hugs! π
DeleteWell, onward you go! You are chipping away at it. Phew!
ReplyDeleteHad to chuckle reading 4A-HEALTHY-BMI's response because the same types of things have run through my mind associated with your blog countdown. :-)

LOL! We think in social pop-culture memes, don't we? Onward!
DeleteWhooHoo ... get 'r done.

DeleteGood luck with sorting through the blogs.. I have decided to let mine go as they were copied and shared in other places I have access to. Purge and release.. right.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Letting go is sometimes the very best decision!
DeleteOn my way to Fitness and it just doesn't stop raining. Well we need it but it rained all day yesterday too. Have a great day and good luck saving all of those blogs.
ReplyDeleteRain is good... in moderation. Saw some really scary footage of urban flooding up the road... which fortunately resulted in a rescue (flooded elevator in Omaha - as in building elevator, not grain elevator, for us corn country bumpkins)!
DeleteStay safe and stay fit!
Hi! Though I see your name all over Spark, I have never followed you. Always a first time, right? May your blog retrieval and review go smoothly (with few tearsπ’). I have similar work cut out this week on a much smaller scale.
ReplyDeleteHope our paths cross again!
Hugs and peace,
Lynn
Welcome to the life raft flotilla. Looks like we navigated differently on Spark... I never was much of a team / challenge participant, although I dipped the toe in a bit... more of a blogger, and a blog reader! That was one of the beautiful things about Spark, it offered so many different forms of support, and you could find what worked for your personality and communication style!
DeleteHope to see you around!
